Beyond Expiration Jul 31, 2011
By Kenneth A. Freeman I did not start using these strips until after my previous batch was used up. Big mistake, I should have tested a new one and an old one on the same water. The first time I used the strips the pH read 6. This was way too low since the old strip read OK the previous week. I tried a strip on tap water and it still read 6. Later the strips started reading low chlorine. I shocked the pool and still the strip read no chlorine. Bottom line: I checked the expiration date and it was 11/10. I bought these from Amazon in June 2011. Also the strips did not have 8490 anywhere on the label. There was a marking of 8270 that had been stamped on the label along with the expiration date.
